  8. A Fond Farewell to an Exceptional Employee

My most trusted and valued friend, employee and courier, Antonio Antezana is retiring after 20+ years of service and going back to his home country to celebrate and be with his family for the holidays and beyond. He has worked miracles in getting passports and visas for all our travelers but It takes a special kind of person with a "we can do it" attitude to commit and get the job done on a daily basis. I, along with my Vp2go family and friends wish him all the best. -  Ariel V. Datoc, President & CEO

  13. Travelers: Don't wait! Renew your U.S. Passports now.

Nearly 49 million passports are set to expire within the next three years, and government officials are warning there will be an flood of renewal requests through 2018.

The reason: A U.S. law that went into effect in 2007 requires U.S. citizens to use a passport when traveling to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda.

As a result, nearly 18 million passports were issued in 2007 alone, and since passports are only good for 10 years, all of these will soon be up for renewal.

Adding to the time crunch is the fact that many European countries won't accept passports within six months of their expiration date.

The U.S. Department of State will no longer add visa pages into U.S. passports beginning January 1, 2016. Previously, U.S. passport holders had the option to pay for the insertion of additional 24-page visa inserts when valid passports lacked adequate space for entry or exit visa stamps. The decision to discontinue this service was made to enhance the security of the passport and to abide by international passport standards.

Beginning January 1, 2016, applicants in need of additional pages in their valid passports must obtain a new passport.
